Two More Nights of K-Pop Tribute at the Pier

Date:

The following is a submission from the Pier Corporation.

Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier will join fans around the world in celebrating K-Pop sensation “SEVENTEEN” with a special Ferris wheel lighting, Oct. 15–17. The 90-foot-tall, solar-powered Pacific Wheel will glow in SEVENTEEN’s signature colors from sunset to midnight including both nights of the group’s sold-out BMO Stadium concerts in Los Angeles.

The lighting is part of the group’s “SEVENTEEN World Tour [NEW_] THE CITY” activation, returning with new experiences and larger-scale collaborations. Fans can explore exclusive pop-ups, limited-edition merchandise, and themed dining across Los Angeles — including special events at Complexat 433 N Fairfax Ave, on Oct. 11–13, and in Koreatown at 3509 W 6th St., on Oct. 4–Nov. 16.

Fans can enjoy the Pacific Wheel light show in person or via live streaming at www.pacpark.com/live.

The Pacific Wheel is the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel featuring 174,000 LED lights that are mounted on the Ferris wheel’s 40 spokes and two hubs. The Ferris wheel’s lighting system features 16.7 million color value combinations to display dynamic, custom, computer-generated lighting entertainment. The eco-friendly, enhanced LED lighting provides 81 percent greater energy savings than most Ferris wheel’s traditional incandescent bulbs.

The Ferris wheel soars nine stories high and lifts riders more than 130 feet above the Pacific Ocean to offer extraordinary views of the Southern California coastline from its location on the internationally popular Santa Monica Pier.
