Future of SaMo Civic Auditorium Meeting: OPA’s Oct. 9 Monthly Meeting will feature a conversation with multiple groups presenting their perspectives along with an open Q&A. This month’s meeting will be at the Beach House CoWork (2219 Main St. @ Strand) starting at 6pm. We will also be hybrid on Zoom. Click here to add to your calendar. 6:45 – 7:45pm: Civic Auditorium Discussion – David Martin from the City will first explain the factual history of how we got to where we are and then each of the following groups will get up to 5 minutes to present their positions followed up with Q&A (preference will be given to board members, followed by paid OPA members, followed by general public):SMMUSD (represented by Esmeralda (Esmi) Careaga & Carey Upton) 

7:45 – 8:30: Board business including 

Oct 21-22 Main St. Festival, 2024 elections, & Dec holiday party.

Council to Discuss “Healthy Democracy” Lottery to Drive More Representational Public Participation for Deciding the Future of the Airport: In this SaMoNext article Jesse Zwick points out “that the current public participation process under-represents large portions of the public as the people that participate self-select” and it explains how the process could work.
