Black History Month Celebration Comes to Third Street Promenade

Celebrate Black History Month at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4  p.m. Hosted as part of the Crafted by Culture series in partnership with Shopfest, the event will spotlight Black makers, artists, and entrepreneurs, honoring their creative contributions with an exciting lineup of activities for all ages. The event will feature over 20 local vendors showcasing unique products from African American-owned businesses, providing an opportunity for attendees to support artisans and entrepreneurs from the community.

Taking place on the 1300 block of Third Street Promenade, this free community celebration will be packed with live performances, including music, spoken word, and dance, from local talent like DJ Asha, Arielle Estoria, Maestro the Vocalinist, and more. For the younger crowd, the Kids Zone will provide fun and interactive activities, including a special children’s book reading by Alexis Mozell and CJ Charles, designed to inspire young minds.

2:30 p.m. – DJ Asha
2:45 p.m. – 2K The Clown (Drill Team, Drummers & Dancers)
3:45 p.m. – DJ Asha (Final Acknowledgements)
4 p.m. – Event Ends
