Addressing Homelessness: Why are we Building Supportive Housing in Santa Monica? This SaMo.gov post explores “explore how PSH, which is affordable housing combined with onsite services for residents, is an essential tool in Santa Monica’s work on Addressing Homelessness, and how it benefits the entire community.”

Holiday Season Brings Opportunities to Give Back: This SaMo Mirror post details opportunities with the California State Employees Food Drive, LA Regional Food Bank Holiday Campaign, Meet Each Need with Dignity (MEND) Annual Christmas Basket Program, and Westside Food Bank Holiday Food Drive.

Crudo e Nudo’s Tuna Tartare Toast Recipe: The Main St. staple shared their recipe for one of their special dishes with the LA Times here.

Huckleberry Hanukkah Menu: This Santa Monica stalwart is offering its usual Hanukkah bounty, with to-go main courses like brisket braised in red wine and tomato sauce as well as sides like kale salad with persimmons, toasted pecans, and honey dates; carrots served with an herby chimichurri; potato latkes; and homemade applesauce. Desserts include cinnamon-sugar-dusted brioche donut holes and a chocolate olive oil tart. Pre-orders can be made here through December 30 at 2 p.m. for pickup and delivery from December 24 through January 1 during the business’s open hours.

Things To Do This Weekend: 

  • Holiday Cheer on the Pier (Thursday 4 – 8pm): The SaMo Pier is bringing the holiday cheer this year with holiday music and performances, puppetry, singalongs, and holiday cheer. https://www.santamonicapier.org/cheeronthepier/
  • 3rd St. Promenade “Holiday Thursday” (Thursday 5 – 7pm): Gather around the tree for festive fun! Hand deliver your letter to Santa, sip hot cocoa, make holiday crafts, and enjoy live holiday music. Local Girl Scouts will be on hand to wrap gifts, and the Promenade will be decked out in its holiday best. This Thursday will be Santa’s final visit to the Promenade, so don’t miss it!   • Micro-Amusement Park “Two Bit Circus” Opens Pop-Up on The Promenade: The high-tech entertainment company known for its immersive and interactive experiences, has launched a pop-up arcade where guests can enjoy unlimited gameplay for $25, including a VR-enhanced “Cocktail Shooter” game. 1220 3rd St Promenade. https://twobitcircus.com/
