- SMPD’s Comprehensive Plan for a Safe and Secure Election Season: This SaMo.gov post details how the Police Dept. is being “vigilant in scanning for any potential threats that could disrupt voting at polling centers and ballot boxes across the city. By closely monitoring social media platforms, we aim to detect any early signs of possible interference or unrest. Additionally, we are engaged in regular meetings with surrounding law enforcement agencies, the local NAACP, and the Los Angeles ADL office to stay informed and work collaboratively with community partners.”

SOCKtober is back! “Socks are the #1 requested item in homeless shelters and rehab facilities, so please donate new socks for all ages at SMTT’s Visitor Center, 2427 Main St. Participate in Santa MoniCARES’ SOCKtober collection drive now until Oct. 31, to make an impact in our community. Last year, we gathered 1,100 pairs of socks, and this year, we aim to match or beat that number.” More details here.

- All You Can Carry Pumpkin Patch @ Downtown Farmers Market (Wednesday): For $10 per person, kids and adults can take home all the pumpkins that can be carried in one trip. No helpers, no carts, no bags, just a bit of muscle, some luck and tons of fun. All are invited to try to beat last year’s record of six pumpkins. The patch opens at 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. or when the pumpkins are all carried off. Find the patch at the intersection of Arizona Ave. and Second St.
