Date:

The following is a submission from the Pier Corporation.

The Kiwanis Club of Santa Monica is excited to announce the inaugural Youth and Family Health Expo, a dynamic event aimed at fostering health and wellness within the community, at the Santa Monica Police Activities League located at 1401 Olympic Blvd., on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The free event will provide families with information on how to advocate for themselves and their children while navigating the health care system and the multifaceted challenges that their children face concerning their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

The Youth and Family Health Expo will bring together professionals, service providers and practitioners to engage in meaningful discussions and interactive sessions on topics ranging from physical health and nutrition to mental health awareness and stress management. Adults will participate in informative seminars while the youth are engaged in hands-on workshops focused on practical skills and strategies for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Highlights of the expo include:

·       Expert-led seminars on nutrition, fitness, and physical and mental health.

·      Interactive workshops on mindfulness, stress reduction techniques, and nutrition for the kids.

·      Opportunity to speak one on one with professionals in an expo-style atmosphere.

·      Spanish translation provided.

·      Free lunch served.

“Our goal is to give our community members practical and actionable information, and those ‘ah-ha! moments’ when you learn something new and useful,” said Jessica Handy, of the Kiwanis Club, the sponsor of this event. “We are planning this to be the first of many expos, because there is just so much great information to cover.”

The Youth and Family Health Expo represents the commitment to promoting holistic well-being and empowering individuals and families to lead healthier, happier lives. By providing access to valuable information, resources, and support networks, the aim is to inspire positive change and strengthen communities from within.

Partners in the event include Santa Monica Police Activities League, Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Santa Monica Family YMCA and Venice Family Clinic.

This is a free event. Lunch will be provided. Attendees must register to be admitted. For more information and to register for the Youth & Family Health Expo, please go to https://tinyurl.com/FamilyHealthExpo or visit www.KiwanisClubSM.org and go to the Events page.
