OPA Update 1/8/24: OPA Monthly Meeting Tonight, Dropping SaMo Rents, & Things To Do This Week

OPA Monthly Meeting TONIGHT/MONDAY: This is the first meeting of the year, where will be discussing a lot of our goals & priorities for the upcoming year.
It’s a GREAT time to attend a meeting and weigh in on our efforts and priorities. This month’s meeting will be at the Beach House CoWork (2219 Main St. @ Strand) starting with food and mingling at 6:15pm. We will also be hybrid on Zoom. Here is the Zoom link to join the meeting starting at 7:00pm.

6:15 – 7:00pm: Food, refreshments and mingling

7:00 – 7:15pm: SMPD update

7:15 – 7:30pm: Kaitlin Drisko: Executive Director, Santa Monica Conservancy

7:30 – 8:30: Board business including electing 2024 Exec Board, determining key 2024 priorities, and more!

Things To Do This Week: 
Social Service Assistance provided by Providence St. John’s Community Health Program (Tuesday, 9:30a.m.- 5p.m.): “The trained Providence St. John’s staff can assist with enrollment in CalFresh, the state of California’s food subsidy program created to improve the nutrition of families through access to healthy foods. Staff can also help navigate enrollment or questions for MediCal and Medicare.” More details here.

Computer Class – Intro to Google Docs (Wednesday 10:30am – 12pm): Create and format text documents using their free online word processor. Google account recommended, but not required. For advanced beginners. More details here.
