Santa Monica Farmers Market Events to Host Panel on Food Insecurity in Los Angeles

Date:

Via press release from Food Forward, a local non-profit that fights hunger and food waste.

How are we doing as a country in eliminating hunger? In his new book, Big Hunger: The Unholy Alliance Between Corporate America and Anti-Hunger Groups, long time food activist and former Angeleno, Andy Fisher discusses how the tight alliances between Big Food and anti-hunger groups block our ability to solve hunger.

Laura Avery of Santa Monica Farmers Market, Rick Nahmias of Food Forward and Frank Tamborello of Hunger Action LA will be joining Andy to talk about solutions to food insecurity and health disparities in Los Angeles. Hosted by Sam Polk of Everytable.

Please join us at The Gallery Food Hall at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica to enjoy refreshments from Everytable as we settle in for a conversation with our speakers.
