Wednesday Poll: AirBnB

Date:

The Santa Monica City Council unanimously voted Tuesday to regulate sites like AirBnB. The new ordinance strengthens the city’s prohibition against short term rentals — when a whole unit is rented out for less than 30 days. However, the ordinance also allows “homesharing,” the practice of hosting a paying guest in a spare bedroom, on a couch, or in a guesthouse, so long as the primary resident is on site while the guest is there. The Council originally debated the ordinance in April. What do you think?
