Tonight’s City Council Meeting Is Cancelled

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Santa Monica City Council scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. A cancellation of a mid/late August meeting is normal to observe a standard summer recess or “dark period” allowing council members and city staff time off. Last year’s August 26 meeting was cancelled, and in 2024 the August 13 meeting was cancelled.

Such practice is common in cities across the country.
