Pacific Park presents “Cheer On The Pier,” with the arrival of Surfing Santa to the Santa Monica Pier just in time for the last Locals’ Night event featuring holiday-themed fun, winter wonders and a grand prize raffle on Thursday, December 19 from 5-8 p.m.
The Santa Monica Pier will celebrate the last Locals Night of the season with live music on the Pier’s parking deck. Guests can also visit the festive pop-up post office to write letters to Santa in the Merry Go-Round Building and check out Sandy Cane Lane featuring the most dazzling, holiday-decked cars that twinkle and spread holiday cheer like no other. It’s a night of fun for everyone.
Adding to the holiday magic, Pacific Park’s iconic 40-foot-tall, multi-colored Christmas tree stands proudly on the north-facing side of the West Coaster roller coaster, soaring 50 feet above the beach. The Park’s Ferris wheel enchants visitors nightly with festive light displays, featuring a cheerful 90-foot-tall waving snowman, reindeer with blinking red noses, animated snowflakes, holiday emojis, and more—all glowing brilliantly over the Pacific Ocean.
Pacific Park is open daily, so once guests finish their holiday shopping they can take a break and relax at the Park. Enjoy a few rides, play a few games and treat the family and out of town visitors to the best beach and ocean views in Southern California on the solar-powered Ferris wheel. For those unable to visit in person, the Ferris wheel’s holiday lights can be enjoyed via Pacific Park’s live webcams at www.pacpark.com/live.
The Pacific Wheel’s 174,000 LED lights are mounted on the Ferris wheel’s structure including the 40 spokes and two hubs. The world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel’s lighting system features 16.7 million color value combinations while the programming and display software presents imaging up to 24 frames per second to display dynamic, custom, computer-generated lighting entertainment. The eco-friendly, enhanced LED lighting provides 81 percent greater energy savings than most Ferris wheel’s traditional incandescent bulbs.
