The Santa Monica College (SMC) Theatre Arts Department will perform “Noises Off”March 27-April 5 in the Theatre Arts Main Stage on the SMC Main Campus, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.

“Noises Off” is a farce that follows a theatre company attempting to mount a touring production while everything around them steadily unravels. Missed cues, misplaced props, and backstage tensions collide with the onstage action, creating a swift, escalating chain of comic surprises. The result is a sharply built, high-energy piece that showcases just how hilarious complete theatrical disorder can become.

The play was written by Michael Frayn. The SMC production is directed by Terrin Adair. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 and April 3, and Saturday, March 28 and April 4. Matinees are at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29 and April 5. All performances subject to change or cancellation without notice.

Advance (pre-sale) tickets, which range from $22 to $25 ($18 for SMC students and staff) plus a modest service charge, can be purchased online at smc.edu/ticketsat any time, or by calling 310-434-4165 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets purchased on performance weekends at the Events Box Office (at the Theatre Arts building) are $3 higher. Parking is free, and information on parking, transportation, and directions can be found at smc.edu/transportation.
