SMC’s Corsair Track Closed to the Public from 12/1 to Spring 2026

Date:

The Santa Monica College (SMC) Corsair Track & Field, located at SMC’s Main Campus at 1900 Pico Blvd. is closed to all users, including the community, through mid-April 2026 for major construction and repairs funded by local voter-approved bond Measure AA (2008).

The construction and revamp efforts include resurfacing the track, regrading the field, and installing a new digital scoreboard. Throughout the project, the track and field will be unavailable for internal/college athletic programs’ use and is also unavailable to the public. dsk Architects and Environmental Constructions, Inc. are executing all aspects of the project.

Construction is currently scheduled to begin December 1, 2025 and anticipated to be completed by mid-April, 2026. Details related to public use—including hours and guidelines—will be reviewed in Spring 2026 and appropriate notifications made prior to reopening.

For updates on the construction status of Corsair Track & Field, please email SMC Director of Facilities Planning & Construction Charlie Yen at Yen_Charlie@smc.edu or   visit smc.edu/ConstructionUpdates. The status of all local voter-approved bond-funded projects may also be found at smcbondprojects.com.
