Santa Monica Public Library launches Community Mapping survey

Date:

The following is a submission from the City of Santa Monica.

The Santa Monica Public Library, or SMPL, launched a survey today as part of its Community Mapping initiative, inviting patrons and community members to share their feedback and join the library in mapping its future.

SMPL’s Community Mapping initiative seeks to design library programs and services that reflect the needs of the community, enhancing the library’s role as an inclusive and accessible space for all. Take the survey online in English or Spanish through Sept. 30. Patrons who share their email address upon completing the survey will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift card to a local business.

In addition to the survey, SMPL will host Community Conversations, where patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments, connect with community members and learn about the Community Mapping initiative. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share their feedback through interactive displays and join a guided discussion with library staff.

Community Conversations will be held:

“Santa Monica Public Library is dedicated to meaningful, community-driven engagement and we look forward to strengthening our connections through this initiative,” Santa Monica Public Library Director Erica Cuyugan said. “Through our Community Mapping efforts, we hope to establish the library as a dynamic hub for learning, growth and belonging, ensuring our programs and services evolve to meet the changing needs of our community.”
