The Kiwanis Club of Santa Monica has donated a total of $200,000 to support LA wildfire relief efforts, with its most recent $100,000 contribution presented to the American Red Cross Western Los Angeles, during its monthly meeting at the offices of Downtown Santa Monica, on March 19, 2025. Kiwanis Charities Chair Abeer Sweis presented the donation check to Sean Inoue, Executive Director of the American Red Cross, Western Los Angeles.

The American Red Cross continues to offer shelter, supplies, emotional care, and recovery assistance to wildfire victims across the region.

“We’re honored to support the American Red Cross in their ongoing wildfire relief efforts,” said Abeer Sweis. “Their team is on the ground when people need it most, and we’re proud to contribute to their life-saving mission.”

The March donation follows an earlier $100,000 contribution to the Salvation Army Santa Monica, presented on February 19, 2025, at the Kiwanis monthly meeting held at the offices of Downtown Santa Monica. Kiwanis President Eula Fritz and Charities Chair Abeer Sweis presented the check to Salvation Army Captains James and Katrina Fleming, who shared how the organization is helping wildfire survivors with emergency financial assistance, emotional support, cleanup kits, air purifiers, and meals.

“We are blessed to be able to contribute to both the American Red Cross and Salvation Army—two organizations doing tremendous work on the front lines of disaster relief,” said Kiwanis President Eula Fritz. “These donations reflect our deep commitment to serving the Santa Monica community and beyond in times of need.”
