SaMo Rent Prices Fall Once More as LA Surges in Demand: According to Apartment List, Santa Monica rents dropped by 0.2% in October, down to $2,310 for a one-bedroom apartment and $2,769 for a two-bedroom. Overall, rents in the city have decreased for 10 straight months per the website, with the overall 5.5 drop year-to-year being the largest among the 25 Los Angeles metro area cities listed in the report. More details here.

Santa Monica Secures $8M Grant to Launch New Diversion Program: “SaMo Bridge” will provide officers a way to connect individuals with services such as mental health treatment, substance abuse support, and housing resources. More details here.

Things To Do This Weekend: 
Catch and Release Film and Music Tour – “Don’t Doubt the Trout” (Thursday 6:30pm): The short film is making its LA debut at the SaMo Patagonia shop in tandem with Timmy O’Neill’s climbing short “Soundscape” starting with live music by PAR AVION featuring Timmy O’Neill on drums. More details here.
Friendsgiving at Ishihara Park Learning Garden (Saturday 9 – 11am @ 2909 Exposition Blvd.): During this season of thanks, come help us decorate our Tree of Thanks by putting in writing what you are thankful for. Garden Pancakes on the griddle, Kids Crafts under the Oak Tree, compost to take home, cool season veggie seeds. Feel free to bring a dish to share! More details here.
Community Recycling Event (Saturday 9am – 2pm @ City yards, 2500 Michigan Ave.): Santa Monica residents only. Make sure to bring proof of residency. Bring your used mattresses, box springs, electronic waste, and up to 5 boxes of paper for shredding! Shredding will happen on-site and the paper will be recycled. More details here.
Main St. Farmers Market (Sunday 8:30am – 1:30pm): Need a pre holiday stress break?  Come join us for a special surprise with the Laura Jean Music Academy at 10am and local favorite, singer, songwriter Cadre Scott 10:30am-1pm.  LAPHD will be offering Hands only CPR offering life saving  skills.  Ask our food vendors about pre-holiday orders.
Pupsgiving Play Date (Sunday 11am): Join an off leash play, puppucino drinking contest, Turkey Trot competition, a photo op and pie for everyone. @ Healthy Spot 1110 Wilshire Blvd. More details here.
