OPA Summer Mixer This Thursday Night 5:30 – 7:30pm: Get to know your neighbors while checking out the new Edgemar Restaurant & Lounge @ 2435 Main St. Snacks provided by OPA and the Edgemar Restaurant. EaterLA Profiles New Edgemar Restaurant at 2435 Main St.: This write-up states “The gorgeous new Edgemar takes over a warehouse space in a Frank Gehry-designed development” and that its “natural light, historic ambience, and thoughtful design bring a refreshing new grown-up restaurant along Main St.” with a menu drawing from various international cuisines, including Japan, India, and Southeast Asia, owing to the Chefs’ time in London and upbringing in Malaysia. “London has been a huge influence on my life and I’m so excited by the fluidity of the menus and multi-cultural dishes,” says Dowling. “Things are balanced by flavor, not cuisine, and [chefs are] allowed to express themselves by whatever means possible, with different spices, styles or techniques.”

Report Sees SaMo as ‘Growth Point’ for Future Construction: This SMDP story summarizing a RentCafe report states “To the dismay of some and excitement of others, apartment construction continues to boom both nationally and locally, with Santa Monica noted as a particular growth area in Los Angeles County. Developers throughout the United States are on track to complete 518,108 rental units, with 2024 expected to be the first year in the country’s history to surpass 500,000 constructed units.”
