OPA Happy Hour THIS Thursday: Our Spring community happy hour is THIS Thursday (4/25) from 4:00 – 6:00pm @ Jameson’s Irish Pub patio (2702 Main St.). Come enjoy FREE appetizers and GREAT company. See you there! 

OEM Community Workshops: “These workshops will provide an opportunity for us to come together, share ideas, and discuss important topics about the natural hazards that impact our community.   • LA Law Library Office Hours (Thursday 2 – 6pm): More details here on the monthly offering.
  • Fair Housing Symposium (Wednesday 2:30 – 5pm): The City Attorney’s Office is hosting a symposium that is part of the City’s celebration of Fair Housing Month. Speakers will include Shayla Myers, Senior Attorney in the Unhoused Persons Justice Project at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, attorneys from the Consumer Protection Unit of the Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office, and other special guests. Topics will include: The barriers unhoused persons face in obtaining permanent housing; the impact of fair housing laws on tenant screening policies, including source of income and housing status discrimination (newly passed in Santa Monica); and a basic overview of fair housing laws. @ Santa Monica Public Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd. More details here.

  • Anti-Semitism & Islamophobia Workshop @ SMC (Thursday 1pm): Organized by Student Equity Center Workshop on the tensions in Israel and Palestine and the rise of Islamophobia and Antisemitism that is focused on navigating nuanced historical, political, and humanitarian complexities while fostering open dialogue and empathy among participants and providing diverse perspectives to encourage constructive engagement and potential pathways to peace. @ 1900 Pico Blvd. More details here.
  • Tech & Tasks (Thursdays 2 – 4pm): Need a little help? This weekly program offers one-on-one assistance from SMPL tutors. Staff and volunteers can assist with reading, writing, and technology related tasks. Drop-in to get help with completing online forms and applications, resume writing, device help, improving reading skills, email, downloading eBooks, and much more. More details here.
