First-Ever Endless Summer C.A.M.P in Tongva Park and Americana in the Park Offer Free Art and Music for All Ages

Date:

The following is a press release from the City of Santa Monica.

The City of Santa Monica presents two event series this August and September highlighting world traditions, the roots of Americana music, and Santa Monica’s talented youth. The activations advance the City Council priority of Cultivating Economic Recovery & Expanding Community & Cultural Offerings by investing in community and cultural amenities and programs for all community members.

“I’m thrilled to see these free events enliven the public parks that are part of the fabric of Santa Monica,” says Santa Monica Mayor Gleam Davis. “I’m looking forward to seeing our community enjoy the arts, support our youth, and connect with one another.”

Endless Summer C.A.M.P. (Community | Art | Music | Picnic) at Tongva Park
Attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic, blankets, and beach chairs and enjoy four Saturday afternoons showcasing music and dance from Brazil, Cuba, Latin America, and Hawaii, including Grammy-award-winning artist Daniel Ho. Youth from Santa Monica will take the stage performing orchestral and chamber music, Balkan music, Hawaiian dance, and Ballet Folklorico. Hands-on craft workshops celebrating the park’s plants and world traditions enhance the day’s activities. The Ice Guys LA will serve frozen treats for purchase. Tongva Park’s amenities include a splash pad, playground, ocean observation deck, public art, and 100+ species of plants. Attendees can make a day in Santa Monica and explore local businesses and restaurants in nearby Downtown, 3rd Street Promenade, the Pier, and Main Street. Produced by Community Arts Resources (CARS), in partnership with the City of Santa Monica. Endless Summer C.A.M.P. is made possible by Art of Recovery. A full schedule is below.
