Date:

Gone with the Wynn is a YouTube channel that focuses on interesting yet not-well-known stories from famous places throughout the country. In her most recent episode, the content creator looks at the history of the Casa del Mar hotel.

This video looks at the history of the hotel, which is on the national historic registry, from its origin as a beach club to the stars until it was occupied by the military during WWII, became home to a murderous cult in post-war America before returning to its former opulent glory. If you have eight minutes to spare, it’s a fascinating footnote of local history.
