Santa Monica officials evacuated the Santa Monica Pier after reports of a suspicious vehicle led to a bomb scare.
At around 4 p.m., the Santa Monica Police Department tweeted out the following warning:
Please avoid the #SantaMonicaPier until further notice due to police activity.

Details are still sparse except that reports of suspicious vehicle parked on the south side of the Pier has prompted a response from the L.A. County Sheriff’s bomb squad.
