Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica held its third annual Living History Tour on Saturday as 14 actors stood by the graves of noted people buried there to deliver monologues highlighting their lives.
The community was invited to talk a walking tour around the cemetery to visit each featured grave. Actors portrayed notables that included astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman to travel into space, and Irene Ryan, the actress who played Granny on TV’s “The Beverly Hillbillies.”
Saturday’s event also included the official dedication of the city-owned cemetery’s eco-friendly burial site, Eternal Meadow.
