The Santa Monica Police are asking the public assistance in identifying a potential suspect in an assault with a deadly weapon incident that occurred early Tuesday morning.
Police responded to a call about an alleged assault with a deadly weapon at a 7-11 store on the 1600 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at around 6:00 a.m. this morning.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim, store employee, suffering from an injury. Santa Monica Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and treated the victim,” officials said. “The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
Authorities are currently searching for a potential suspect, which they describe as a white female about five-feet, two-inches tall with a thin build and short black hair. The suspect was wearing gray sweat pants, dark gray tee shirt with and a multi-color hooded jacket, according to authorities.
According to the authorities, “A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect entered the
store about twenty minutes prior and attempted to steal merchandise. The suspect was confronted by the store clerk/victim and was asked to leave. The suspect left the store. The suspect returned and was confronted by the victim a second time. The suspect takes out a sharp object and slices the victim. The suspect fled the location towards Santa Monica Blvd and was last seen southbound in Alley 16.”
