The Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation has received a $25,000 matching gift from Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows/MSD Capital. The Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows/MSD Capital will match all donations to the Ed Foundation, up to $25,000, dollar for dollar through Tuesday, January 31.

“We are very excited to launch this match,” said Linda Greenberg, Executive Director of the Education Foundation. “We are grateful for the Fairmont Miramar’s philanthropic leadership in our community and know this match will inspire others to give as we finish our annual parent pledge drive on January 31.”

“Partnering with our local public schools is central to the hotel’s corporate values,” said Ellis O’Connor, Asset Manager of MSD Capital, Fairmont Miramar’s parent company. “Schools are the hub of our community and we are proud to partner with the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation to help ensure that our community’s children have access to an excellent, enriched education.”

The Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows is also the sponsor hotel of the Education Foundation’s Santa Monica-Malibu Wine Auction, which will be held at the hotel on April 30. Featuring outstanding wine and food tastings, and silent and live auctions of world-class wines and exceptional experiences, the Wine Auction brings parents and community members together to sip, savor and support students.

Donations to the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation change the lives of students in the Santa Monica-Malibu public schools. Contributions fund excellent programs – from arts to STEM to wellness – that shape our future problem solvers, visionaries and global citizens.
