Donate Today to Make Santa Monica Next A News Leader In 2017

Date:

We have big plans for Santa Monica Next in 2017. But to make those plans happen, we need your help today.

For more than three years, Santa Monica Next has been a loud and clear voice for safe streets, progressive urban design, and a balanced approach to increasing our city’s housing stock. But now, under the leadership of Jason Islas and our Steering Committee, we want to expand Santa Monica Next to be a community news source beyond our core issues.

Our plans include expanding our roster of bloggers and “community voices,” continuing the “wire service” where we republish news from trusted local sources, bring back Saul Rubin for regular lifestyle features and community profiles, and even create a community sports section where community journalists can provide stories about athletic leagues from around the city.

And of course, Jason will continue to provide the in-depth news and opinion pieces which won Santa Monica Next an award for excellence in communication from the American Planning Association.

But to do all of this, we need your help. We want to roll out these expansions gradually, starting with a new website design by the end of the year. We’re hoping to raise $5,000 in small donations over the next three weeks.

Please, consider making a donation today.
