Seleta Reynolds, Rick Cole, Eric Garcetti, and Frank Gehry are just some of those who will be speaking at ULI Los Angeles and VerdeXchange’s FutureBuild 2016 conference on Tuesday, January 26.

This year, FutureBuild 2016 tackles the issues of sustainability, resilience, and creative disruption in the future of our cities, with speakers addressing issues from the future of the Los Angeles river to new urban mobility models to sustainable architecture from around the globe.

“Los Angeles is now at the forefront of issues such as density, resilience, housing affordability, technological disruption, urban waterways, and many other issues looming for cities around the world,” ULI Los Angeles Executive Director Gail Goldberg said in a press release.

Cole is scheduled to appear on two panels: “Made to Last: Resiliency, Public Policy, and Affordability” and “Disruption on Wheels: New Mobility Models for Cities,” which will also include Emily Castor, director of transportation policy for Lyft, and Seleta Reynolds, director of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.

Garcetti will be joined on a panel with world-renowned architect Frank Gehry and the Executive Director of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Joe Edmiston for the discussion: “A River Runs Through It: Reimagining L.A.’s Waterway.”

Frances Anderton, the host of KCRW’s “DnA: Design and Architecture,” will host a panel on the most sustainable buildings in the world.
