As any regular reader of Santa Monica Next can tell you, we’ve been very excited about the Broadway Safety Project, a project that runs between Ocean Avenue and 26th Street to repave the street and create an east-west corridor of protected bikeways.

And now the project is almost completed. Cynthia Rose, of Santa Monica Spoke fame, has shared pictures showing that the bike lane has been completed all the way to 26th street.

Since the repaving and restriping began in January, Santa Monica Next and our partner site Streetsblog have been checking in on the progress, and we are looking forward to the city’s official announcement (and celebration!) that the project is completed.

You can read more about the project at the official project website, or check out our updates from January and May.
