The Santa Monica College (SMC) Theatre Arts Department will perform “Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika”Nov. 21-Dec. 7 in the Theatre Arts Main Stage on the SMC Main Campus, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica. “Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika” presents the stunning conclusion to “Angels in America,” the epic play set during the AIDS crisis in the 1980s.
“Perestroika” picks up where “Angels in America, Part One: Millennium Approaches” left off, looking deeper into identity, politics, and the divine. Show times are 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 and Dec. 5, and Saturday, Nov. 22 and Dec. 6. Matinees are at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23 and Dec. 7.
The renowned play was written by Tony Kushner, whoreceived both a Pulitzer Prize and a Tony Award for the popular work, which was also adapted for television and won an Emmy Award. The SMC production is directed by Dr. Adrianne Harrop. Content alert: The play contains graphic sexual content and offensive language (including vulgar slang terms).

Tickets purchased on performance weekends at the Events Box Office (at the Theatre Arts building) are $3 higher.
