National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day (Saturday 10am – 2pm): Approximately 60,000 emergency department visits annually result from children under 6 finding and ingesting medication. Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands, which is dangerous and often tragic. National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. @ Santa Monica Public Safety Facility, 333 Olympic Dr. (between 4th and Main Streets). More details here.

L.A. Gets Green Light to Crack Down on Derelict RVs Under New State Law: Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed Assembly Bill 630, giving Los Angeles and Alameda counties new authority to remove and dispose of abandoned or inoperable recreational vehicles — a move aimed at clearing derelict vehicles and strengthening local enforcement of RV regulations. Starting The law takes effect January 1, 2026. More details here.

The SAMOHI CHOIR Online Auction is Now Open: Proceeds go to Samohi Choir (Santa Monica Arts Parents Association-Vocal Music) in order to support our students. Mixed-use complex debuts at 700 Broadway in Downtown Santa Monica: The eight-story, named 700 Broadway for its address, includes 196 market-rate residential units and 84 affordable homes in a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. Additionally, the project includes a 60,000-square-foot Vons supermarket on the ground floor and a 34,000-square-foot Equinox Fitness Club. More details here.

Draft Digital Display District Ordinance Now Available for Public Review: On June 10, City Council directed Staff to proceed with establishing a new digital display district for the 3rd St. Promenade, inclusive of Santa Monica Place Shopping Center (meeting information can be found here). The City Council’s direction emphasized creating a program that supports key community objectives. More details here.

We Believe in Blue’ LA Dodgers World Series Pep Rally (Thursday 6 – 8pm): As the Dodgers prepare to take the field for the 2025 World Series, Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. (DTSM) and the City of Santa Monica are hosting a first-ever Dodgers Pep Rally on @ 1300 block of 3rd St. Promenade (in front of Dodgers Club House Store). More details here.

Spooky Splash @ SaMo Swim Center (Friday 5 – 8pm): Join us for an evening of recreational swimming, floating pumpkin patch, spooky flicks, arts & crafts, and tricks and treats. Explore the Sharks Haunted House, conquer the floating obstacle course, and grab dinner from local food trucks. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (Saturday 8am – 5pm): This gathering unites communities to raise funds for both patients and survivors, all while celebrating courage and hope. These 3- to 5-mile noncompetitive walks provide a supportive community for courageous breast cancer survivors, people living with metastatic breast cancer, caregivers and families alike. @ Santa Monica Pier More details here
