120 Year History of Big Deans: Apparently it is LA’s oldest bar. This Instagram post highlights its history. 

The Street Seen: 122 Wadsworth Ave: James Hunter comes to Ocean Park in 1905. In 1908, he builds a residence at 122 Wadsworth Ave. The Hunter family occupies the house until 1927. The house then becomes a rental property. The Clark family acquires the property in 1940 and lives there until 1975. More details here

Trendsetting Private Air Carrier Seeks to Operate in Santa Monica: JSX is a fast-rising public charter air carrier that offers an alternative to major airlines by providing shorter flights on smaller aircraft has applied to operate from Santa Monica Airport. It is reintroducing large turboprops to the U.S. market, will offer “convenient, comfortable, and sustainable flights” as long as the airport, which the City can close after December 31, 2028, remains open, company officials said. For 27% of California tenants, rent is more than half their income: Florida has 29%, Nevada at 27% & New York is at 26%. Since 2019, CA tenants have seen their expenses jump 30%. but that surge was only the 32nd largest increase among the states. Nationally, rental costs ballooned 39% over 5 years, with the largest increases in Idaho (57%), Arizona (52%), Florida & Nevada (46%), & Utah (45%). Texas was No. 16 at 35%.
