Locals Night at the Pier Returns Tonight with Reggae and “Community Vibes”

Date:

The following is a submission from the Pier Corporation.

Santa Monica’s iconic Locals’ Night series is back! The first event of the new season takes place Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 3:30 to 10 p.m. at the Santa Monica Pier, featuring a lively reggae theme and a robust lineup of community-based entertainment, vendors, performances, and family activities.

Presented by Pacific Park, Locals’ Night is part of the Third Thursday at the Pier initiative—a free, open-to-all celebration designed to bring the community together with experiences curated by and for Santa Monica residents and guests to the Pier. From musical storytime and hands-on activities for kids, to classic car clubs and reggae beats at sunset, it’s an evening of local flavor with an ocean breeze.

September highlights include:

– Live Music & Main Stage Performances, 4:30–9:30 p.m.:

– 5–9 p.m. – Hosted by Syrus Yarbrough

– 4:30–6 p.m. – Junor Francis

– 6:30–7:30 p.m. – Blaze Mob

– Carousel Activities, 3:30–5 p.m.:

– 3:30 & 4:30 p.m. – Books & Cookies Musical Storytime

– Heal the Bay Aquarium Educational Pop-Up

Locals’ Night is more than an event—it’s a celebration of community creativity, culture, and connection. All ages are welcome, and activities are free to enjoy. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, explore, and support the small businesses and organizations that help make Santa Monica shine.

While many enjoy the magic of Locals’ Night and other free events at the Pier, few realize that it’s made possible by Santa Monica Pier Corporation (SMPC)—a nonprofit that isn’t fully funded by the City of Santa Monica.

“There’s a common misconception that we’re part of the City government, but the Pier Corporation is actually a nonprofit dedicated to the people who love this place,” said Jim Harris, Executive Director and Historian of the Santa Monica Pier. “Locals’ Night shows how this community brings the Pier to life. These events don’t just happen—they happen because of the generous support of our sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who shows up to be part of it.”

Presented by Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier,“Locals’ Night” is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for residents to rediscover the magic of the Pier while connecting with their community. Whether dancing to live music, shopping local artisans, or enjoying the stunning ocean views, this event is designed to bring Santa Monicans together in a fun and festive outdoor setting.
