Final “Locals Night” of the Year, Rick Crocker Run on Thurs., 5/15 at the Pier

The Santa Monica Pier closes out the 2024–25 Locals’ Night seasonwith a high-energy evening of live music, dancing, shopping, and community celebration for locals and Angelenos alikeon Thursday, May 15, from 3:30 to 10 p.m.

Presented by Pacific Park, the final Locals’ Night brings together everything the community loves about this beloved Third Thursday tradition—live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a celebration of local talent and causes. Locals’ Night is proudly produced by the Santa Monica Pier Corporation, which runs annually from September through May.

The event will highlight local nonprofits and youth programs including Santa Monica High School Football, the Lincoln Middle School Art Department, and Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL).

A community highlight for this Locals’ Night is the return of the 5th Annual Rick Crocker 5K Challenge, kicking off at 4 p.m. on May 15 from the Santa Monica Pier. This memorial run-walk honors fallen Santa Monica Police Officer Rick Crocker and raises funds for Santa Monica PAL, which supports youth development programs across the city. The event is open to all ages with an entry fee of $45 for adults, free for youth and active military, registration required at https://RickCrocker5k.givesmart.com.

“Locals’ Night is all about community—amplifying local voices, celebrating Santa Monica’s culture, and creating space for everyone to come together on the Pier, said Jim Harris, Executive Director and Historian of the Santa Monica Pier. “This final event of the season brings together everything we love: music, art, dancing, and shared purpose.”

The May 15 event features Live Music, Activities and Highlights to include:

– Live Music Lineup

– 5 to 8 p.m. – DJ URL (Car Clubs Zone).

– 7 to 8 p.m. – No Reaction.

– 8:30 to 10 p.m. – Cycotic Youth.

 

– Activities and Highlights

– 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. – Books & Cookies Storytime – Two interactive sessions.

– 4:30 to 9 p.m. – Various local artisans, makers, and small businesses.

– 5 to 9 p.m. – Classic Car Show featuring vintage and custom rides.

– Salsa Way at the West End – Free dance lessons with Courtney Parisi and open dance floor.

Presented by Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier,“Locals’ Night” is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for residents to rediscover the magic of the Pier while connecting with their community. Whether dancing to live music, shopping local artisans, or enjoying the stunning ocean views, this event is designed to bring Santa Monicans together in a fun and festive outdoor setting.
