Things To Do This Week:

  • Coffee with a Cop – Nordstrom (Tuesday 12 – 2 pm): Join the Santa Monica Police Department for Coffee with a Cop at Nordstrom, 220 Broadway. No agenda or speeches, just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood. More details here.
  • Ocean Park Branch Library Open House (Wednesday 12 – 8 p.m.): The Open Park Branch Library will make a “splash” with an ocean-themed Open House, encourages our neighbors to visit the branch and find out what the Library has to offer. Library staff look forward to meeting the community—welcoming regular users, as well as newcomers and patrons we haven’t seen for a while—and helping users sign up for library cards or apply for the branch’s self-service model. We’re also celebrating the 105th year of this landmark historic Carnegie library. Patrons can learn history of the branch during their visit, check out books and other materials, enjoy crafts and games with the kids, as well as partake in a few light refreshments.  For children and families, the Library will also feature two special children’s programs during the day. The fun starts with a special, pre-opening Wednesday Tales storytime at 11:30 a.m. for children aged 2 to 5 and their guardians. Kids will have a whale of a time, enjoying stories, songs & silly rhymes. Tickets for the storytime are available at 11:00 a.m. Later in the afternoon, the Library presents an after-school event at 4:00 p.m. with ventriloquist and puppeteer Marc Griffiths, who’ll have families cracking up with his hilarious and inspiring show. Tickets for the puppet show are available at 3:30 p.m. 2601 Main St. More details here.
  • Free Walk-In Legal Clinic (Wednesday 4:30 – 7pm): Santa Monica residents can meet one on one with a lawyer from Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles for help with HOUSING issues. More details here.
  • Pier Locals Night (Thursday 3:30 – 9pm): The Pier will be rolling out the red carpet for Santa Monicans for a curated series for locals, by locals. Gather your friends and family and head down to the Pier for amazing entertainment including youth activities, a car show, local DJs and live music from local bands, art exhibits, and so much more! You really won’t want to miss this incredible and unique outdoor setting to unwind, all while celebrating Santa Monica. More details here.
