Halloween & Dia de los Muertos Safety Tips: SMPD released these safety tips about how to Walk Safely, Plan Activities Wisely, Keep Costumes Both Creative and Safe, and Drive Safely.

  • Trick or Treat at the Library (Tuesday, Oct. 31 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Main Library 12 – 8 p.m. Pico & Montana Branches): Come to the library in your Halloween costume for a spooky goody bag. For ages 3-17. Main Library 10-8pm, Pico and Montana Branches 12-8pm. More details here.
  • Halloween Hop on Montana Ave.: “Trick or treat fun for the entire family from 6th – 17th Streets” Tuesday, Oct. 31, 3 – 6 p.m.
  • Ice at Santa Monica Opening: “The [ice rink] grand opening is on Nov. 9, so that’ll be the big community event, but we’re going to have a soft opening on Nov. 1” and stay open through Jan. 15. 12 – 10 p.m. daily @ 1324 5th St.
