Volley-Ween Party and Fundraiser Returns on 10/25

Date:

Santa MoniCARES, a non-profit organization that exists to raise money for other non-profits doing work in the city is holding its second annual Volley-Ween fundraiser event on October 25, 2023 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. in front of Perry’s Beach Cafe at 2400 Ocean Walk.

Volleyballers can register for $35 to attend and/or play either on your own or with a volleyball team of 2, 4 or 6 players. All proceeds will go towards Santa MoniCARES and its charities.

SantaMoniCARES is run by Santa Monica Travel and Tourism (SMTT) and when they announced the event in a release last month, they said that five teams were already registered: three by hotel staff and others by the SMFD and returning champions SMPD.

“Volley-Ween is an event we look forward to all year, as the community gets together to support local nonprofits – with a little bit of friendly competition on the side,” said Misti Kerns with SMTT in a statement.

“The event kicks off the holidays and season of giving back in our beachside city. Santa MoniCARES’ goal is to help support nonprofits who work tirelessly for our community and Volley-Ween is one of the initiatives that allows us to show our gratitude and give back.”

In addition to the tournament, the event will feature DJ’s, food, drinks and “more.” All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Santa MoniCARES supported charities including The People Concern, the Westside Food Bank and the Santa Monica Police Athletic League.

You can sign up or register for the event, here. Find out more about sponsorship, here. Make a donation to SMTT here. The Santa Monica Daily Press was at last year’s event, and you can read it here.
