Starting tomorrow, we’ll be posting the answers to the questionnaire put together by the students participating in the fall 2026 Police Activities League journalism class.
We’ve only gotten responses from one (!) candidate so far, so if you know a candidate or are a candidate, just answer these questions and send them to damien@santamonicanext.org. Let us know your social media handles and send a picture you’d like us to use to flesh out the story.
Here’s the questions:
If you are elected, what is the first thing you would want to do?
If you could be remembered for one thing for your work in City Council, what would it be?
What can we/you do to raise more money for schools so we can have better supplies and working water fountains? Do you support Measure ES?***
How do we help people get around that are too young to drive and might not have easy access to a bus?
Bonus: What is something adults in Santa Monica are arguing about that you think is a waste of time to argue about?
If you were looking to interview someone about the topic of your choice, who would you interview and what would it be about.?
If you had a Elon Musk’s money what would you do to support the people of Santa Monica
*** – No, the student did now know what Measure ES is, but they were aware there was something on the ballot about school funding. I helped with that part.
