To celebrate the Rams first home game of the new season on Monday Night Football, Pacific Park will light up its world-famous, 90-foot-tall Pacific Wheel with a special Los Angeles Rams lighting program featuring the team’s signature colors and icons the evening of the gridiron matchup, from sunset to midnight.
The Los Angeles Rams will face off with the New York Giants at SoFi Stadium on Monday, September 21 at 5:15 p.m., for Week 2 of the NFL season, in what will be the Rams home opener. The Rams and Giants last met in Week 17 of the 2023 season on New Year’s Eve where the Rams won 26-25 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The game will be broadcast on Monday Night Football locally on KABC-TV, Channel 7, ESPN and radio affiliate ESPN LA 710 AM.
The Pacific Wheel is the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel featuring 174,000 LED lights that are mounted on the Ferris wheel’s 40 spokes and two hubs. The Ferris wheel’s lighting system features 16.7 million color value combinations while the programming and display software presents imaging up to 24 frames per second to display dynamic, custom, computer-generated lighting entertainment. The eco-friendly, enhanced LED lighting provides 81 percent greater energy savings than most Ferris wheel’s traditional incandescent bulbs.
The Ferris wheel soars nine stories high and lifts riders more than 130 feet above the Pacific Ocean to offer extraordinary views of the Southern California coastline from its location on the internationally popular Santa Monica Pier.
