Earlier today, Goldenvoice announced the cancellation of the Ocean Way Festival, originally scheduled for the weekend of September 26, 27. Goldenvoice blamed damage caused to the beach by Hurricane Marie last weekend as the culprit for cancellation.
“Storm surf and runoff has caused significant beach erosion and the festival can no longer be safely held as planned,” they wrote on the event website. “We were so excited to spend a weekend together on The Beach, but can share that plans are already underway to bring the festival to Santa Monica in 2027!”
Ticket holders can expect refunds in 5-7 business days and are being processed automatically.
Goldenvoice’s Ocean Way Festival would have brought a major two-day music festival to Santa Monica’s beach on September 26 and 27, marking what would have been the first major ticketed music festival held on the city’s shoreline. The festival was planned to stretch between the Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street, with The Killers and Olivia Dean headlining alongside Jack White, Khruangbin, Sublime, Alvvays, Hiatus Kaiyote, SG Lewis and others across two stages.
