The following is a submission from the Kiwanis Club

The Kiwanis Club of Santa Monica invites families, friends, and community members to come together for an afternoon of fun “Partying on the Field” in celebration of the donation of the new scoreboard at the beautiful Historic Belmar Park on Sunday, April 27, from 4-7 p.m.

The lively event is packed with activities for all ages, including:

  • Exciting games and activities for kids including face painting and soccer drills.
  • Live music from a DJ and a special performance by the Santa Monica High School Jazz Band  and possibly a wandering barbershop quartet.
  • Friendly scrimmages featuring “Old Stars” and AYSO.
  • A light-hearted 0.5K for everyone – yes, just half a kilometer of fun! All participants get a medal.
  • For the adults, a beer garden – part of a special beta program graciously approved by the City of Santa Monica, co-sponsor of the event; 21-plus and credit cards only.

A highlight of the afternoon will be the presentation of the Kiwanis Club’s Annual Community Grants, recognizing and supporting outstanding local organizations that make a difference in the lives of children such as Swim with Heart, Blind Children’s Center, and Santa Monica Police Activities League. Santa Monica Mayor Lana Negrete will also be in attendance.

“We’re thrilled to host this celebration in partnership with the City of Santa Monica,” said Eula Fritz, President of the Kiwanis Club of Santa Monica. “It’s a chance to enjoy our parks, uplift our community, and honor those doing incredible work with kids. We’re expecting at least 300 attendees, and we hope you’ll be one of them.”

Bring your friends and bring your family. All are welcome to come enjoy this unique gathering filled with joy and music made possible by these great sponsors 7-11, Santa Monica Travel and Tourism’s Santa Monica Cares, Santa Monica Brew Works, and the City of Santa Monica.
