OPA Update 4/8/24: OPA Monthly Meeting Tonight/Monday, Happy Eclipse Day, & Things To Do This Week

OPA April 8 Monthly Meeting Next Monday: This month’s meeting will be at the Beach House CoWork (2219 Main St. @ Strand) starting with food and mingling at 6:15pm. We will also be hybrid on Zoom. Here is the Zoom link to join the meeting starting at 7:00pm. Here’s the draft agenda and here’s schedule:

  • 6:15 – 7:00pm: Food, refreshments and mingling
  • 7:00 – 7:15pm: SMPD update focus on Patrick Cheng from Office of Emergency Management 
  • 7:15 – 7:30pm: Ericka Lesley, Chair, Rent Control Board
  • 7:30 – 7:40pm: Santa Monica Conservancy & Main St. Tours
  • 7:40 – 8:30: Board business, including upcoming calendar of events (MAINopoly, Make Music Day, July 4 Parade, & more)

Rent Prices Rise Coming Out of Winter: This SMDP report that Santa Monica rent prices went up by 1.5% in March, with the median one-bedroom apartment rental costing $2,358 and the median two-bed up to $2,827.

LA County Reminds Property Owners of Second Property Tax Installment Due April 10: Payments must be received by 5pm Pacific Time or United States Postal Service (USPS) postmarked on or before Wednesday, April 10. More details here
