Future of SaMo Civic Meeting: OPA’s Oct. 9 Monthly Meeting will feature a conversation with speakers from SaveTheCivic.org, SMMUSD, Community Corporation, etc. presenting their perspectives along with an open Q&A. This month’s meeting will be at the Beach House CoWork (2219 Main St. @ Strand) starting at 6pm. Expect more details soon.

SaMo Boosts Efforts to Tackle Homeless Problem in Parks: This report details how the City is increasing police patrols and stepping up efforts to clean up encampments in public parks frequented by the homeless, The City also is installing five mobile cameras to monitor activities at Palisades, Reed and Tongva parks in the Downtown area and adding lights at Reed Park.

Waymo Launching a Limited Access “Tour” in SaMo: Waymo is inviting city residents and visitors to experience Waymo One “live” via free fully-autonomous Waymo One rides from Oct. 11 – Nov. 18. Click here to sign up for their waitlist.

  • Community Open House & Resource Fair Features Over 30 Local Service Providers (Wednesday 5 – 6:30p.m. @ Virginia Avenue Park): The City & Community Corporation of Santa Monica invite participants to connect with a wide array of local services providers many of whom offer free programs. “Learn about their offerings including senior services, financial services, mental health services, music education, hospitality employment training and other services.
