Santa Monica’s Westside Chamber Orchestra Wins National Award

Santa Monica-based Westside Chamber Orchestra is the winner of The American Prize in Orchestral Programming—The Vytautas Marijosius Memorial Award, 2025 in the professional division. The orchestra was selected from applications reviewed recently from all across the United States.   

The Westside Chamber Orchestra is conducted by Santa Monica native Brian Stone and is governed by Sounds LIke LA with The Da Camera Society producing the concerts.All concerts are free and held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 958 Lincoln Bl, Santa Monica.

The WCO’s fourth series will present five concerts this season beginning on November 15 at 7pm with the program “From Baroque Dancing” featuring music of Arnold Schoenberg, Gabriel Faure and J.S. Bach. The rest of the season will offer: “From Germany” on Saturday April 11, 2026 at 7pm with music of Mendelssohn, Richard Strauss, and Mozart, “From Scotland” on Saturday June 27, 2026 at 7pm with music of Debussy, Peter Maxwell Davies, and Mendelssohn, “From France ” on Saturday July 25, 2026 at 7pm with music of Dukas, Poulenc and Bizet “From Religion” on Saturday August 29, 2026 at 7pm featuring

Tiffany Ho soprano, Rachel Labovitch alto, and Michael Segura baritone, in music by Henri Tomasi, Stravinsky and Giovanni Pergolesi.

The Westside Chamber Orchestra is a professional, non-profit orchestra based in Santa Monica, California with institutional governance held by Sounds like LA. The WCO presents free concerts of sophisticated, aspirational programming, thoughtfully prepared and presented with context and vitality.
