Eyes on the Street: Speeds Drop on Colorado Avenue

Date:

Photo: Jacob Wasserman

Reader Jacob Wasserman caught the city in the act…the act of making streets safer for all road users that is. Wasserman snapped the picture on the right of the installation of a twenty five mile per hour speed limit sign at Colorado and 4th. The previous speed limit was 30 miles per hour.

The Colorado Ave. speed limit reduction extends all the way from Ocean Avenue to 17th street and is part of a series of limit reductions approved by the City Council in August of 2024. Last year, Santa Monica Next celebrated when the limits were reduced on Neilson Way.

Below is a full list of the limit reductions that were approved. If you see any others drop, snag a picture and let us know at damien@santamonicanext.org.
