ALERT: Suspicious Vehicle Leads to Bomb Scare and Evacuation at Santa Monica Pier

Santa Monica officials evacuated the Santa Monica Pier after reports of a suspicious vehicle led to a bomb scare.

At around 4 p.m., the Santa Monica Police Department tweeted out the following warning:

Details are still sparse except that reports of suspicious vehicle parked on the south side of the Pier has prompted a response from the L.A. County Sheriff’s bomb squad. Follow Santa Monica Police Department or the city of Santa Monica’s twitter feeds for updates. Next will update as information becomes available.
