PAL Celebrates Halloween Success, Announces Holiday Toy Drive

Date:

The following is an announcement from PAL. All puns are their responsibility.

Halloween night was a BOO-tiful evening as the Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL) hosted its annual Halloween “Spooktacular,” a thrilling event filled with ghosts, ghouls, and spooky attractions. Held on Thursday, October 31, at the PAL Youth Center in Santa Monica, the event raised over $20,000 to support local youth programs.

More than 200 local youth and their families enjoyed a night of fun, exploring game booths, creating ghastly arts and crafts, and savoring delicious food. Highlights included the ever-popular trick-or-treat lane, which transformed into a series of immersive worlds: a Jurassic Park jungle, the Addams Family mansion hallway, Beetlejuice’s den, and a haunted dollhouse.

The dedication and hard work of PAL staff and volunteers shone in every detail of the event. One talented PAL youth contributed a hand-painted, glow-in-the-dark portrait of the Addams Family, which illuminated the hallway and drew admiration from guests all night long.

“We are deeply grateful to our major sponsors, the PAL Board of Directors, the Santa Monica Police Department, and the entire community for making this event a success,” said Eula Fritz, Director of the Santa Monica Police Activities League. “Our shared commitment to providing enriching experiences for local youth remains steadfast, and we can’t wait to make Spooktacular 2025 even more extraordinary!”

The PAL Spooktacular Halloween event was supported by a variety of sponsors at different levels and was open to all youth and their families.

Up next for PAL is the annual “Best Gift Ever Toy Drive,” a cherished tradition where youth ages 6-17 receive gifts donated by the community. The Holiday Workshop will take place on Wednesday, December 11. For more information or to contribute to the drive, call 310-458-8988 or email Eula Fritz at eula.fritz@santamonica.gov.
