Celebrating its 27th year, the Sustainable Quality Awards, hosted by the City of Santa Monica in partnership with Sustainable Works, recognizes local businesses that demonstrate excellence in helping Santa Monica continue to move toward a more sustainable future. The annual awards ceremony will take place on April 26, 2023, from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Annenberg Community Beach House.
“Santa Monica businesses continue to demonstrate that economic vitality, social equity, and environmental protection are mutually beneficial and core components of a thriving local business community,” says City of Santa Monica’s Chief Sustainability Officer Shannon Parry. “We are thrilled to recognize the contributions these businesses are making to our community and thank them for their efforts to realize a sustainable Santa Monica.”
The Sustainable Quality Awards recognize Santa Monica businesses that have successfully incorporated sustainable practices into their operations. The Sustainable Quality Awards Grand Prize is given to businesses that excel in the areas of sustainable economic development, social responsibility, and stewardship of the environment. Excellence awards are given to outstanding achievements in any one or two of the three categories.
The 2023 Sustainable Quality Awards honors two Grand Prize winners and two Excellence Award winners:
Grand Prize winners:
- Shore Hotel: Revolutionizing sustainability within the hospitality industry, the Shore Hotel has a comprehensive stance on reducing its carbon footprint and leads a special green program striving to make a difference in the community and environment.
- Veo: On a mission to end car dependency with shared bikes and scooters, Veo operates from a set of values that distinguish them in the industry. Veo develops collaborative partnerships with cities and universities as they work towards a sustainable, safe, and equitable transportation future.
Excellence Award winners:
- OsteoStrong: Excellence in Social Responsibility and Economic Development
- Diana Ralys Skin Health: Excellence in Stewardship of the Environment
Tickets to the Sustainable Quality Awards are available online at smsqa.com. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and begin with a networking power hour featuring exhibitors, small bites, and connecting with Santa Monica professionals from different industries. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m.
