The Buy Local Health and Fitness Festival, sponsored by the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, was held Saturday at the Santa Monica Civic Center. It featured dozens of local businesses and organizations promoting a variety of activities, from yoga to biking.
Half-hour demonstrations were featured on a main stage, from Zumba to ballroom dancing. Booths also included banks and loan service companies, who were there to promote financial health. Food trucks and some local food vendors presented healthy eating choices for festival goers, who flocked to snatch up gluten-free pizza samples from Fresh Brothers.
SM Spoke: Santa Monica Spoke was on hand at the Health and Fitness Festival to promote bicycle riding and also to raffle off two beach cruisers.Dance Movement: The Health and Fitness Festival offered people plenty of chances to get up and move, including this dance and movement demonstration on the main stage.Naam Yoga: Naam Yoga of Santa Monica lead festival goers in yoga sessions throughout the day.
